gitweb software package provides fast, scalable, distributed revision control system (web interface), you can install in your Ubuntu 16.10 (Yakkety Yak) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install gitweb
gitweb is installed in your system.
Make ensure the gitweb package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep gitweb *
You will get with gitweb package name, version, architecture and description in a table
